Spring has Sprung (or has it???)

Even if it was just over the state line, we were happy to go on the first out-of-state trip this year to Chattanooga, Tennessee.  While we like the cross-country roadtrips, the close-to-home weekend trips are really awesome, too.

We almost did not get a chance to go.  We had been checking the weather all week and the forecast called for 60% rain on Saturday and 40% on Sunday, so we contemplated either going to Helen, GA or somewhere in Alabama.  At the last minute, we decided to stick with our plans and hoped for the best. The best happened!!!

The whole weekend the clouds were clear, the sun was up, and the forecast called for no rain whatsoever.

When we arrived, we hooked up the RV and then we spent a couple hours Downtown, enjoying the city and the beautiful weather!

On the way back to the campground, we passed by the Chattanooga National Cemetery and decided to drivet hrough it.  It was overwhelming to see how many people lost their lives in various wars from the surrounding areas.

Even more astonishing was seeing the date of death, as many were the same.

On Saturday morning, we decided to take the kids to Rock City.

Phillip had never been before so we knew he would enjoy it since he LOVES rocks!

They were still celebrating St. Patrick’s Day and the whole place was decked out in green…even the waterfall was green!

One of our favorite parts was the swinging bridge and Fat Man Squeeze…Macey was not very fond of either one, ha!

It was such a beautiful morning and the view from Lookout Mountain was spectacular!

After spending the morning at Rock City, we went back to the RV for lunch and what we thought was going to be a quick game of Life…it was anything but quick but there were many, many laughs 🙂

Later that evening, after putting the kids to bed, we enjoyed a nice cup of coffee by the fire…the perfect ending to a perfect weekend vacation!

Until next time…
